Meg 6a-10a

Meg is the morning show host on Tom@1075 - WWTJ-FM in Charlottesville, VA.

Meg began her brilliant career in broadcasting at the age of 14 when as teachers pet, she would make the morning announcements on the PA at school. She continued to shine when as a senior in high school, she was invited to be the MC of Sports Honors Night and promptly threw-up all over the athletic directors shoes. And so it began…

After a brief side trip into nursing, Meg returned to the microphone as a night club DJ (don’t forget to tip your waitresses….) in Washington, DC at such hot spots as Rumours and The Front Page and in Dewey Beach, DE at the Bottle and Cork.

Deciding that the real action was in radio, she took a job as a flying traffic reporter in Washington, DC spending countless hours freezing and/or sweating in the tiniest plane known to man, flying unending circles to the left around the beltway and flying WAYYYYY to close to the top of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Labor Day and Memorial Day. Realizing that it would increase her chances of survival dramatically, she planted her feet firmly on the ground at WFLS in Fredericksburg, VA until she met and fell in love with TOM.

Along the way, Meg has worked as a nanny, a receptionist, a car insurance claims processor, a web designer, a cable installer, a cake decorator, a cashier (at Christmas at IKEA – not one she recommends), a camp counselor, a teacher at an after school science program, a data entry clerk, a help desk phone drone, a bar manager, a wedding DJ, a wedding photographer, a tutor, a kids’ party clown, and a dog walker. Many people would say she is easily distracted, but Meg prefers to think of herself as a renaissance woman.

Meg’s hobbies include making a fool of herself singing in public and not just on Karaoke night.   She can frequently be found wandering the aisles of the grocery store, blissfully unaware that the rest of the world cannot hear the music in her headphones as she belts out the lyrics to “Mr. Roboto”. She also enjoys completely useless trivia, the more obscure, the better. She has spent 7 years trying, unsuccessfully, to teach herself to speak Italian but has mastered the art of smiling and pointing helplessly at the map. She has 10 nieces and nephews and is very proud of the fact that none of them have realized that she is a grown up.
